Why Jihad is actually about our ego
In Sufism, jihad can refer to the internal struggle to overcome one's ego and lower desires in order to achieve a state of spiritual purity and closeness to Allah. This internal struggle is more important and meaningful form of jihad than any external or physical struggle. Sufi mystics often use spiritual practices such as meditation and chanting to help them in this inner struggle. In this context, the goal of jihad is not to engage in violence or warfare, but rather to purify the self and achieve spiritual growth.
